More from the Stoke Pottery Museum
The Japanese Tea Bowl must have been very respected for it to have been repaired with gold lacquer and now be in a museum. I do not know the names of the makers of any of these works but the porcelain vase looks very modern. Someone had fun sculpturing the mouse photographer and his model.

Hi Bruce, I don't recall the name of the potter who made the Japanese tea-bowl either. But I can help with the small model of the mice. The piece is by by George Tinworth who is a particular favourite of mine. Two mice ( Tinworth's signature animal) taking a photograph. Remarkable that this piece was modelled by Tinworth in the 1870's right at the beginnings of photography. Tinworth was an important modeler and decorator at Royal Doulton.
