This large Bizen style Tsubo (storage jar) is one of mine fired in our large anagama for nine days. It is made of a high iron bearing clay and has been thrown in two parts and then joined.
What an exqusite form what is the actual size? I am hoping that I am fortunate enough to have one of your early pieces. It is a small vessel beautifully bellished with a stylized line drawing of a woman on a horse. The piece is signed The Martins on the front in the thick glaze that partially covers the surface. Is this a piece that could be attributed to you and your late wife? Thank you for your consideration.
