Things Interesting

My friend, Phillip Smith, a Landscape Gardener from Auckland, took the top photograph.  I would love to visit Ding Dong in the UK and see what it is like.  I wonder how it got such a name.  Phillip also gave me the name of the white flower posted on the last blog.  It is a Verbascum chaixii, commonly known as mullein.

  1. Narrow leaved mullein to be more precise....I'd never imagined that anything else would be called mullein, apart from the yellow flowered, furry leaved variety! (v. thapsus) Verbascum is a huge family I've just discovered!
